SPRINGVILLE, NY [August 19, 2026] – Fluidampr has released two new performance dampers covering some of the most popular naturally aspirated and turbocharged BMW inline six engines, giving engine builders a premium viscous damper option for M50, M52 and M54 applications. The one-piece factory fit upgrade delivers superior durability and vibration damping with no tuning or rebuilds required.
Both p/n 843311 for M50 engines, and p/n 843301 for M52/M54 engines, are based on the same design. The key difference is p/n 843311 for M50 engines features an integrated 60-2 tooth tone wheel for the crankshaft position sensor pickup. Both dampers provide flexibility with a removable stock size 5.75” 6 rib inner and 5.00” 5 rib outer accessory drive pulleys. The outer pulley is mounted on a 3.20” bolt circle and allows for common dry sump oil system drive mandrels.
Fluidampr performance dampers are designed to last the life of the engine. No rebuilds or tuning are required. In addition, RoHS compliant black zinc coating and laser engraved SFI 18.1 credentials maintain a premium appearance in harsh racing environments.

Crankshaft torsional vibration analysis was conducted by parent division and automotive original equipment damper manufacturer, Vibratech TVD at Howell, Michigan based Koalafied Engineering. The test vehicle was a 2001 BMW 325i with M52 swap equipped with larger turbo, injectors and tune. Fluidampr p/n 843301 reduced crankshaft torsional vibration by an average of 35% compared to a rebuilt performance O-ring damper and 1% compared to a new stock-style elastomer damper tested.
