SPRINGVILLE, NY [May 1, 2025] – At the request of the international racing community, Fluidampr announces the release of a new performance crankshaft damper, part number 610201 for 2002-2016 Ford 4.0L Barra in-line six cylinder engines. Ideal for high RPM motorsports, the damper features a 10% underdrive accessory pulley to optimize alternator speed and help prevent water pump cavitation.
The Ford Barra engine originated in Australia and is a popular swap engine due to its performance potential and relative durability. “The Barra damper development and testing is another great example of Fluidampr listening to and working with the grassroots racing community,” says Fluidampr damper project manager, Nick Orefice. “As more drift racers and street performance enthusiasts are swapping in Barra engines, there’s quickly becoming a need for the superior protection and performance a Fluidampr crankshaft damper provides.”
The new damper includes pre-drilled mandrel or accessory drive M10x1.5 bolt holes on a 2.750 inch bolt circle pattern. A TDC mark is also notched and highlighted in white on the pulley side edge. Each Fluidampr performance damper come complete with a corrosion resistant black zinc RoHS finish, then laser engraved with a Fluidampr – Made in the USA logo and SFI 18.1 credential.
